Share a time that really defines rest for you.

2 Of the 3 enemies of  rest Craig discussed, what we do, what we know, what we have, share which one you struggle the most with.

3 If getting  rest in God starts with a decision and moves forward with faith, how are you resting in God today for your present circumstances.

Discussion questions

Does going through hardship tend to make your heart harder or softer toward God? Why? 

The author reminds the Hebrews that they share in a heavenly calling. What are some obstacles to keeping an eternal perspective in our lives? 

In verse 10 we see the people’s HEARTS kept going astray and in verse 12 the author gives us a helpful key to avoiding the same mistake. What is it? 

Brad mentioned a few characteristics to keeping a soft heart. Can you think of and share some more? 

“The same sun that melts the ice also hardens the clay”. Why do you think some people can go through the same circumstance or adversity but respond so differently?

Discussion questions

 If the writer is speaking about neglecting rather than rejecting our great faith, what practical steps can you take today to ensure you don’t drift.

Reflect on Gods promises and also those times you have really sensed Gods presence in your life.  How do they reassure and strengthen you in your faith for your present circumstances?

If Gods plan, purpose and relationship with you is built on love how does this change your view of Him and how you should relate to Him.

If Jesus is our called the author of our faith, our advocate, our brother, the one who understands our struggles, what storms in your life today can you share with him to keep you steadfast and secure in your faith.
