SUNDAY @9.30am
This Sunday Anthony will be bringing us the first of our Christmas series messages, this week on “We’re having a baby!” from Luke 1:26-38. All welcome.
Anthony says: “We all have expectations about Christmas – expectations around decorations and what kind of Christmas lights we will set up or what kind of gifts we will buy or receive. We have expectations around family gatherings, hoping everyone will get along and the food we will cook and eat. Expectations about Peace, Hope, Love and Joy, that is, until you head to the local shopping mall. Christmas is full of expectations !!! That very first Christmas, there were also lots of expectations. Joseph, Mary, King Herod, and the Shepherds all had expectations. What if all we were expecting for Christmas this year was God? How would that change our Christmas? Would it change our Christmas?“
01 DECEMBER Friday Night Youth
This Friday, after our Year 11s and upwards have their session in The Shed at 5.30pm, the Youth group will join them in the church for a Christmas Party from 7.30-9.30pm with games with a ‘hint’ of Christmas!
Youth is on for highschoolers most Friday nights during school terms. Contact Jason on 0416 861 322 for more info.
10 DECEMBER Nine Lessons & Carol Service
St Matthew’s church in Guildford is holding their annual 9 Lessons & Carol Service on Sunday, 10 December @7pm – and our very own Ian Lindsay will be playing the pipe organ! If you’re needing a carol fix before Christmas then head along to St Matthews in Stirling Square, Meadow St, Guildford and sing along to your favourites.
17 DECEMBER Kids Christmas Service
The Parky KidsMin kids will be hosting the main church service on 17 December, so come along to experience a service and production like no other!
* Parents – if your child can’t make it to the Kids Christmas Service on the 17th can you please let Sue Watkins know at kidsmin@parkerville.net.au.
** Does anyone know where the wooden Parky Christmas stable has gone? The kids would love it for their production but can’t find it!
